VP Leni as our next DSWD chief?

In an online survey conducted by one of her fiercest critic Assistant Communications Secretary Mocha Uson, for the vacant Department of Social and Welfare Development (DSWD)- Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo bagged topped honors.

Garnering 81 percent of  all the votes, the Vice President was surprised, much more that Asec. Uson included her name in the list of choices.

“First of all, I was surprised because my name was included. I also thank Asec. Mocha for believing in our ability to handle the position,” Robredo said in her weekly program BISErbisyong Leni over dzXL.

Uson known to many as a blogger who is allied to the President and one of the fiercest critic of the Vice president conducted the online poll following the rejection of the Commission on Appointments of Judy Taguiwalo’s chairmanship to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella was asked about the online result of the survey and he just said giving the DSWD portfolio to the Vice President is a “difficult choice”.

“I’m not saying ‘no’ for Leni. I’m just saying that it seems it will be a difficult choice,” Abella explained.

It may be recalled that Robredo quit as chairperson of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council last December of 2016, after she received a text message that President Duterte ordered her to “desist from attending all Cabinet meeting.”

MalacaƱan said it was because of “irreconcilable differences” that made the President feel uneasy around Robredo during the conducts of Cabinet meetings.
