Newly appointed and incoming Presidential spokesperson Atty Harry Roque was put on the spotlight in
his very first briefing since Ernesto Abella was booted out af MalacaƱan
palace.
He was asked about the claim of President Rodrigo Duterte
early statements that the United States of America Central Intelligence Agency
(CIA) is part of the grand conspiracy of the destabilization plot to undermine
his almost two year old administration.
Speaking for the first time with the MalacaƱan Press Corps,
he stood by the president that the CIA has a destabilization plot against the
Duterte administration. *

"The President has access to information that he only
has access to. I have not seen it. But I trust and believe that my President
will not say anything without factual basis," Roque said.
"I stand by whatever my President says," Roque
added.
US Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim, in a forum with
foreign correspondents on October 26, denied that the CIA was planning to oust
Duterte.
Kim's statement came following Duterte's earlier allegation
that the CIA wanted him out of the government.
Prior to his claim, the President also accused the CIA of
carrying out a plan to kill him.
Reacting to Kim's
remark, Roque said the current administration was "happy," if the CIA
is indeed not mulling to remove Duterte from office.
"Well, if that is true, we're happy. But if the
President says there is [destabilization efforts against him], I have no
position to dispute what the President says," he said.
The United States Ambassador to the Philippines Sung Kim
lweeks ago highlighted the United States very important role it played along
side the Philippinetroops in the liberation of Marawi City in the hands of the
islamic extremists- Maute group.
"We had P-3s (surveillance planes), Grey Eagles
(drones) providing crucial intelligence information to the Armed Forces of the
Philippines so that they would be able to carry out operations necessary to
retake Marawi."
