Mabilog trying to fool President Duterte

And we all thought the Espenido- Mabilog saga was already over.

Police Inspector Jovie Espenido’s transfer to Iloilo was cancelled, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte clarified that he did not order the head of Ozamiz City to be the chief of police in Iloilo City.

"Alam ko wala pa siyang ranggo. Ako nagpipirma ako ng appointment pati promotion," President Rodrigo Duterte told reporters on Tuesday. "When he was in Ozamiz, he was not really the.. may police chief doon. In-assign lang siya para solbahin ang stranglehold ng droga."  *

The President said that he can assign Espenido anywhere, but not as police chief.

In relation to  Iloilo being the most ‘ shabulized city ‘ the President  yesterday made a statement that Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog was trying to fool him by raising a bounty for the neutralization of Western Visayas alleged drug lord Richard Prevendido, who was recently neutralized in a police operation.

Duterte was referring to the P1.1 million bounty raised by the Iloilo City government, Iloilo provincial government, and the Philippine National Police for the neutralization of Prevendido. Of the total amount of bounty, P500,000 came from the Iloilo City government.

Prevendido and his son Jason were killed in a police operation in Barangay Balabago, Jaro, Iloilo last Friday.

The President has tagged Mabilog as an alleged protector of the drug trade in the city, a claim that the mayor has denied. *

Duterte said proof of Mabilog’s links to the drug trade was the latter’s house, which he said was even more grandiose than the Malacanang Palace.

“It was because of drugs. Where else would he get the money from, his business?” Duterte said.
