Happy 58th Birthday Leila!
This is her first time to spend a birthday in detention.
In a dispatch from her detention cell, Senator Leila De Lima, Aug. 27, she said she wanted to clear her name of all the accusations against her,not just for herself, but for the sake of her family.

She has been detained in Philippine National Police Custodial Center. Camp Crame over charges related to illegal drugs.
"Tulad ng nauna ko nang nabanggit, ang birthday wish ko po: vindication. Paglaya hindi lamang mula sa di-makatarungang pagpapakulong sa akin ng rehimeng Duterte, kundi pati na rin ang paglaya mula sa mga kasinungalingan at paninira sa aking pagkababae at pagkatao," De Lima said in the letter.
The Senator has been known as one of President Duterte’s fiercest critics.
"Patuloy ko pong dalangin ang ating tagumpay: Ang mangibabaw ang katotohanan, ang makamtan ang katarungan ng mga pamilyang pinagkaitan ng hustisya. At ang pananaig ng demokrasya," said De Lima.
"Buong puso kong nagpapasalamat sa suporta ng aking pamilya at sa inyo pong lahat na nagtitiwala at kasama kong nakikipaglaban," she said.
Senator Leila De Lima, then who was Secretary of Justice under the administration of Benigno “Noynoy” Benigno III from 2010 to 2015, was arrested February 24 over her alleged involvement in drug trade at the New Bilibid Prison during her time as Justice chief.
It has been her practice she was detained to give dispatches of her opinions regarding matters concerning the issues of the country, most especially if the issues involve her number one nemesis which now the sitting president of the republic- President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
