Robredo on 32 deaths in Bulacan Drug ops: "mag express tayo ng outrage"

The “simultaneous operations’ of the Bulacan Provincial Police Office that killed thirty-two drug suspects, and 107 that were arrested by anti-drug operations across the whole province made the Vice President talk.

Vice President Leni Robredo has been silent this past few days, but yesterday she was again making her opinion known.  She is urging the public to “express outrage” over the “One TimeBig Time” simultaneous operation of the Bulacan Philippine National Police that killed 32 drug suspects in 24 hours.

"Ito [ay] isang bagay na kailangan mag-express tayo ng outrage. Hindi naman tayo ganyan eh. Hindi tayo ito," Robredo said in an interview.

"Yung culture of impunity, matagal na nating isinikwal. Sana hindi na natin papayagang makabalik pa."

This is in direct contrast to the pronouncement of President Duterte regarding the PNP operation done last Tuesday.

"Maganda iyon," Duterte said of the police efforts that tallied the highest number of drug suspects killed in a day.

As a matter of procedure, the PNP’s Internal Affairs will investigate the controversial anti-drug operations in Bulacan, Sr. Supt. Dionardo Carlos Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson said.

PNP Chief  Dir. Gen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Dir. Gen. Ronald dela Rosa, when asked to comment on Bulacan’s One Time Big Time operations, stated that:
“Magtaka kayo kung patay lahat. Marami namang buhay na nahuli (You should start to wonder if everyone is dead. There were suspects arrested and they are alive),” he said in a speech before members of the city’s police in Ozamiz City.
