Era of fake news is over.
That is for the pro-Duterte social media accounts.
This is the statement made by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV
as he revealed his plan to file label cases against several individuals who
spread information on his alleged foreign bank accounts on the internet.
Trillanes slammed pro-Duterte social media accounts and
personalities for allegedly spreading false information about the existence of
the said bank accounts. The Senator specifically names broadcast journalist Erwin
Tulfo, Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson, and content contributor of CNN
Philippines, Ben Tesioma.
"Kaya nga within the next few days I will
file a case against itong si Mr. Erwin Tulfo, si Ms. Mocha Uson at itong si Mr.
Ben Tesiorna. Kakasuhan ko sila ng libel," Trillanes said in a media
conference at the Senate.
He added, "Hindi na pupwede yung fake
news. The era of fake news is over."
Thae Senator recently signed waivers for the
alleged bank accounts which will allow th Anti-Money Laundering Council and the
Office of the Ombudsman to check the bank accounts that were alleged to be
under the name of the senator.
In signing the said waivers, he challenged
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to sign a similar documents to allow a scrutiny
in the accounts the senator alleged the he has in Pasig City containing more
than P200 million. The same allegation he made during the election campaign last
year.
"Ako naman ibabalik ko kay Duterte yung
hamon. Nagparatang ka sa akin pumirma ako ng waiver. Nagparatang ako sa'yo
isang taon mahigit na iniiba mo yung usapan," he said. *
This the latest action done by the Senator
after this weekend, the president in his
speech in Cagayan De Oro, revealed that Trillanes has offshore accounts in
different countries- a proof , the president said of the senator’s hidden wealth.
"Itong Duterte administration nanalo kayo dahil sa fake
news pero ngayon hindi na pupwede yan. Hahabulin at hahabulin ko kayo every
