Delos Santos was killed in an anti-illegal drugs operation on Aug. 16. He was found in a fetal position with a gunshot wound to his head. Police reports stated Delos Santos fired first, which prompted officers to fire back.

However, based from the CCTV footage and some witnesses show a young man that is believed to be Delos Santos is being dragged away by two policemen in civilian clothes.

The Philippine National Police Internal Affairs Service (IAS) later admitted it was Kian Delos Santos, and those dragging him were policemen. The three policemen have been identified and the Internal Affairs Service of the Philippine National Police is looking into possible administrative charges against them.
