Frat members beat up Sen. Kiko Pangilinan’s grandson

Robert Pangilinan was beaten up by members of the Tau Gamma Phi Fraternity.

The 18 year old is a Hotel Management  third year student in Adamson University located in San Marcelino street, Ermita , Manila. The alleged beating up was reportedly done inside tha Adamson University premises.

The 18 year old along with family members went to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and narrated how the members of the Tau Gamma Phi  fraternity allegedly beat him up, he calims there are other students that saw what happened, but did not do anything to stop the fracas. And that he was just able to run away from the incident.

He claims, that the harassment has been going on for a year.

“They always bullied him, binabatukan ng mga members every time they see him. He was recruited by the fraternity with the promise that they will never hurt him. He joined the frat but the group did not stop,” said Robert’s mother, Marissa.

One of Robert’s teachers said he is a “good student with high grades and was very jolly, until the frat began bullying him.”

“Wala naman kami magagawa dito sa school, at malimit nangyayari pag-bully ng mga Tau Gamma dito. Better magpahinga muna at lipat na lang siya ng school. We also fear for his life (We cannot do anything about it and Tau Gamma members have always been involved in bullying incidents in this school. It would be better if he take a break and just transfer to another school. We also fear for his life),” said the teacher.

The family tried to contact the college dean but got no response from the school administration.

NBI will investigate

 Cases of grave threat and serious physical injury are the charges filed against the 15 memebers of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity.

NBI Bureau Head Agent Palmer Mallari gave the assurance of investigating the matter immediately.

“We beg the Adamson community to help us on this case, our son is not the only one who is bullied and tinatakot ng mga frat na yan. There is no brotherhood and camaraderie,” said the mother of Robert.

Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan confirmed to the Manila Bulletin that the victim is his grandson by way of his half cousin.

“Half cousin ko tatay ni Robbie. ‘Yong tatay anak ng half brother ng father ko,” he said in a text message to Manila Bulletin.
